No Supports, No Stress – How We Deliver Clean Resin Miniatures Every Time
In the world of high-quality resin miniatures, attention to detail is everything. At The Print Tavern, we pride ourselves on delivering models that are not only visually stunning but also safe, functional, and ready to use. One question we have heard quite a bit from our customers lately is:
“Do you ship your models with the supports still attached, like some other printers do?”
Here’s why we don’t — and never will. While the occasional small one may slip through by mistake, we strongly believe your models should never arrive buried in a mesh of supports, and here’s why:
1. Health & Safety Comes First
Leaving supports on a resin miniature poses a serious health risk. Resin used in 3D printing must be thoroughly cured under UV light to be safe to handle. When models are still wrapped in a mesh of supports, it’s impossible to guarantee that every part of the print is fully cured, especially in tight or hidden areas.
This means there’s a real danger of uncured liquid resin being left behind — a substance that can cause skin irritation or worse if mishandled. By removing all supports and inspecting each piece, we can ensure your model is completely cured, safe, and ready for your tabletop or display case the moment it arrives.

2. Supports Can Cause Breakage Post-Curing
Resin is a fantastic material for capturing detail, but it also becomes tougher once cured. While removing supports straight off the printer is manageable (and something we do with great care), attempting to remove them after the model has been fully cured is a whole different story.
Supports bond tightly to the model — and once hardened, they can become nearly impossible to remove cleanly without damaging delicate parts. We’ve seen customers from other shops report broken limbs, shattered weapons, or snapped bases because they had to wrestle with support material themselves.
By doing this step in-house, we remove that risk entirely. You get a complete, intact miniature — no clippers, no guesswork, no heartache.

3. Quality Control Matters
A model wrapped in supports is a model we can’t inspect. And if we can’t see it, we can’t guarantee its quality.
We believe every model that leaves our studio should meet our exacting standards. That means carefully checking every angle for print flaws, layer shifts, and misprints. If a part didn’t print properly, we want to know — and fix it — before you ever see it.
Sending out models still entangled in support material means that you can’t appreciate the craftsmanship, and you can’t spot any flaws. We believe every model deserves a clear inspection before it leaves our hands, so you receive a finished piece we’re proud to stand behind — and you're proud to display.

4. Good Packaging > Leaving Supports On
Some manufacturers claim they leave supports attached because it makes the model "safer to ship." But in our experience, this is simply a workaround for poor packaging design — not a true solution.
With the right packaging materials, careful layout, and proper bracing, even the most intricate, fragile models can be shipped securely without any need for supports. We’ve sourced the best packaging that protects the miniature while showcasing our commitment to presentation and care.
Leaving supports on is not a protective measure — it’s a compromise. And that’s not how we do things.

The Bottom Line
At The Print Tavern, we don't cut corners. We’re not just shipping models — we’re delivering craftsmanship, reliability, and respect for your hobby.
Leaving supports on may be faster and cheaper for a manufacturer. But for us, doing things properly — safely, carefully, and with pride — will always be worth the extra time.
